About Me

I spend most of my time trying to finish my PhD in Ecology. I study the population dynamics of seabirds, specifically Brandt's cormorants, and Cassin's auklets on the Farallon Islands in California. This incredible place has inspired a lot of photographers over the years and I am no different. Every year I take more photos than the last, trying to capture the essence of the place. I love taking photos of wildlife, people, landscapes and food wherever I encounter it and I have recently begun exploring the world of filmmaking. My husband Russ and I love to cook, eat, and travel and I always have my camera with me. This blog is my attempt to document and share some of the places and experiences that inspire me. Hope you enjoy!
